Notes-

10/07/07 While Darby does still have occasional itching, it's no where near as bad as before.  She isn't scratching her head 'til it bleeds.  I tried a 50/50 rinse with raw cider vinegar after her last bath... she smells like a salad!  I haven't noticed much difference so I'll give her another bath with regular shampoo today and skip the rinse.
9/25/07
Has had two very good days... a little scratching/nibbling but nothing uncontrollable!  The past two days she's been acting her silly/goofy self at times... more sleepy and subdued after her Diphenhydramine though.  Still, we try to watch closely for scratching.
9/23/07
Left Darby home with the pack for the first time since her allergies flared... removed shirt before we left.  When we got back one foot had been licked a little... wiped it down with a Malaseb pledget and put a shirt back on her.

Two Diphenhydramine at around 4pm seems to work best at preventing the late afternoon itching.
9/20/07  Very itchy today.  Checked between toes that had the yeast and they looked a little damp so used a Malaseb pletget between them. Later scratched face and neck... licked front left paw some but stopped her and gave her a bath with Malaseb Shampoo.

Darby scratched the top of her head so it was red... we were getting dinners ready at 5:30pm.  Will give two Diphenhydramine at 4:30pm on  to see if it makes a difference.  A little nibbling and scratching... no foot chewing or licking.  We keep a long sleeved shirt on her but no socks.  Still use boots each time she goes outdoors.  She's getting only the BHIAllergy tablet before bed (we give it crushed and mixed with a tablespoon of Wysong canned 100% rabbit.)

  • Had started her on 1/2 tsp. of Missing Link but she threw up her breakfast with the first dose so we dropped it down to 1/4 tsp. instead. Doing fine so far.
  • Itching seems to start at 3am... may need to give a med at that time instead of spraying.  But spraying with Ox-E 2% because of itching has also dropped considerably.
  • Socks have been eliminated... but we keeping a shirt on her along with boots when she goes outdoors.
  • Have not needed to wash as often... use Malaseb for full baths and Neem Oil soap in between now for face only (unless Panda's gotten a hold of the soap... then it's for the teeth too... sigh).  Malaseb pledgets if she's licked her hind feet (seldom now).
  • The skin around her eyes has been a normal color at times... other times more pink.
  • Purchased another dehumidifier and Mountainaire air purifier. Started using the air purifier on the afternoon of 9/13/07.  http://mountainaire.info  Supposed to be like the kind they use in hospitals that kills bacteria, molds, pollen, etc.  Weather was cooler at times... seemed to have better days... high 40s to mid 50s... but we have NOT yet had a freeze yet.
