Bumble Update

Start of week #2.

Leg doesn't seem so jelly like... still kind of wobbly especially when peeing... limping but she is putting weight on it.

Sat for the first time outdoors.  Probably due to pain.  Brought her in because it was time for more pain meds.  Started the puppy squats today... 10 sits with immediate stands.  Aiming for 3-4 times per day... will start with twice daily since she just started sitting.

Following these rehab instructions... more detailed than from MSU. http://www.topdoghealth.com/faq/documents/FHOE-Booklet.pdf

Started using heat before PROM.
Using a different Bed Buddy I put in
the freezer after we do the stretching.

Figured out how to do passive range of motion exercises without needing Jim's help.  Stuffed a Kong with Wellness canned food.  Need to freeze them so they last longer.

Stopped using the Drs. Foster and Smith sling today.  She can get over the stoop if we go slow.

Working on PROM.

Thinking about her skin damaged butt and hocks...
She came home with some significant razor burn but also sore hocks and a big spot on her boney butt.  Think it may have been the result of hard surfaces and anxiety... bruised or pressure sores maybe?  They said she had reverted to her excessive drooling... I knew she would and had forewarned them so she was kept in the ICU where there were more people.

If she needs to have the other hip done, she needs to be padded or have a padded crate because this is unacceptable.  Maybe bring her in just before surgery if it's ever needed.

Leg is jelly... really wobbly.  Limping and toe touching but putting full weight on it at times.  Gait is odd... maybe due to atrophied muscles.   Did the famous Panda roll for the first time since her FHO... she rolls from her side, to her back, to her other side. :)

April 21st- 5am shave down again when she was licking her left hock... same as right hock and butt. Skin peeled off when cleaned. Neo-P on right hock, antibacterial salve on left. NOT GOOD.  Called vet's office as soon as they opened.  Doc not in but told to clean and Neo-P as doing... got a call back soon after to start Cephalexin.  Emailed pictures so they could see.  Bruising inside leg on FHO side.

April 20th- Found a little blood on the sling but couldn't figure out where it came from.  Later found what I thought was poop by her butt... shaved it down at 1am and it was hardened gel-type skin.  It rehydrated and peeled off  when cleaned with Nolvasan and water on cotton balls. About 2" in diameter.

April 18th. Removed bandage... incision looks good. But lots of razor burn... told to put a little antibiotic salve on spot inside leg.

Coming home on April 18th after FHO down at MSU on April 17th...
